Jetty Pulau Ketam at Port Klang
Port Klang or was once known as Port Sweetenham has a Jetty to Pulau Ketam. This is the jetty for ferry to transport people and stuff to Pulau Ketam. This jetty is always bustling with people busing with their daily lifes. Before, this jetty was also a jetty for barter trade, Vegetables, Fish etc. It was also the train station for Port Klang, but now was replaced by the Komuter. In the old days, there used to be a village beside the jetty but was demolished for future development.
This is the place i call second home. I would spend most of my ‘after school childhood time’ there. Beside the Perlama Jetty(Jetty Batu Besi) i spend most of my childhood time at this Jetty Pulau Ketam. This is the place where i start my fishing life, a place that nurtured me to become what i am today. I still remember the first fish i ever caught at the sea was at this jetty, a whopping 1kg plus grouper. Lots of grouper back in those days in Port Klang. Just by using peel prawn which we pick up from the from the fish jetty(beside te Pulau Ketam Jetty) and using a 50 cents complete set type of handline, we managed to catch fishes like Threadfin Salmon, Snapper, Grouper, Jew Fish, Siakap etc. I will write more on fishing at this Jetty later on in my fishing journal.
