Fishing in Bangkok, Thailand :- Part 4 – IT Monster Lake
This is the easiest part of this report. This is how i ‘Romance the Dragon’!!!!!![]()
So, i think now i am qualified to for the Tasik Kenyir Araipaima Challenge…..![]()
quote:
Foreign animal danger to our habitatsThe Menteri Besar of Terengganu has issued a challenge by offering a RM10,000 reward to whoever catches the Araipaima Gigas (or dragonfish) in Tasik Kenyir, so as to reduce its population. This underscores the gravity of the issue of invasion of foreign species.
Sahabat Alam Malaysia (SAM) is highly concerned that alien fish species are being dumped into our waterways, threatening the lives of indigenous fish species.Link :- http://www.mmail.com.my/content/7831-foreign-animal-danger-our-habitats
But pity, the reward is only a mere Rm10,000. Hiring a professional like me cost more than that. Besides the cash reward, i would require a lot of beers and whiskey to be provided too. EK would agree with me on this…..![]()
And besides, i don’t think these gentle dragon would threaten the lives of any indigenous fish species…..![]()
The moment of joy for every angler is to catch one of their dream fish. My dream already came true and that is why i can retire from fishing but once John get to know that i am retiring from fishing, he showed me these photos….![]()

OUCH!!! I hate you John!!! Why must you torture me like that??? Why can’t you just let an oldman retire peacefully???![]()
Anyway, to cut a long story short, i am going back to Bangkok on 1st of March with fish4fun(Kenny) to get this fish, then i can retire from fishing peacefully!!!![]()
Ok, back to IT Monster Lake. Like what fish4fun said, if you wanna fish at this pond, make sure you bring lots of spare cloths because you need to jump into the lake to take photo with your dreamfish. They do not allowed you to bring this fish on land. The moment this araipaima was in the safe cage, i jumped into the lake and start molesting it till the fish handler came over and speak some Thai language to me which the Thai Fishing Guide translated it as “That is a araipaima, not a hooker on Patpong street”….hahaa……![]()
After i molest enough, i climb back up to shore and went and took a bath, change my cloth and continue fishing. This is something that you must NOT do if you are feeling lucky that day!!! Or else, no matter how many spare cloths you bring also not enough. The moment i took a bath, changed my clothing and cast out my bait, my reel went…..”STRRREEEEEEEEEEETTTTTT” again!!! I leggo 2 meter of line and the fish is still pulling and i strike!!! It’s a hook on again!!! OMG, this fish fight like a anaconda too and it swirl in circle of ‘S’ with constant knocking on my line. It swam across the lake taking out my line like i hooked on a MRT train. This fish does not allow me to retrieve line and it keep pulling and pulling. After about 10 minutes of tugging my line out, i sense it’s slowing down and this is when i slowly pump it back. Once it’s near, it swam up and make an aerobatic turn and showed its body and the Thai Fishing Guide shouted….”It’s an Araipaima again”!!!!….the Thai Fishing Guide kept on saying, “You are very lucky KK”,…”You are very lucky KK”…”Second araipaima on a row!!!!!!!!![]()
I again fought this fish for about 20 minutes before it decides to give up!!! Wooaahh, what a fight!!!

YEAAAAHHHHH!!! I caught 2 Araipaima Gigas on a row!!! ![]()

So i took off my cap…

Show my usual hand gesture ‘trademark’…and……

…and start kissing the fish!!!…*muakks, muakkss*……..![]()

I caught a “Seong Lung” aka ‘Double Dragon’ in 2010!!! Talk about luck!!! Ain’t i lucky!!! Wooaaahhhhh!!!!
2010 Year of the Tiger??? Tiger also must give way to ‘Double Dragon’!!!…hahahaaa…….![]()
