Fishing in Bangkok, Thailand : Part 3 – IT Monster Lake
IT Monster Lake is a commercial pond tha houses many amazing fishes. This lake belongs to a Mr It Khun, a sugar refinery owner who loves fishing himself. Mr It Khun imports all sort of fishes from the Amazon River, Chao Praya River, Mekong River etc. Fishes like the Araipaima Gigas, Chao Praya Catfish, Red Tail Tiger Catfish, Asian Redtail Catfish, Pacu, Alligator Garfish and carps, like the famous Temoleh, big head carps, rohu etc to be rare in his lake and he would invite some of his close sport fishing friends over to fish them. Only lately he decides to open this monster lake to the public with a minimum charge(3500bath per rod).
From my observation, Mr It Khun does not make much profit from the charges he collects from the paying anglers. On the day i was there only 2 anglers were fishing at the lake, me and an Irish angler. The maintenance cost and also the cost for feeding those monster fish every day in his lake is not cheap because he feeds his monster fish with live fishes like the tilapia and carps. This is the reason why his monster fishes are always healthy and strong.

Anyway, thanks to Mr It Khun, now we don’t have to travel to the Amazon river to fish for amazonian monster fish. I’ve seen many baby fishes swimming around the pond and they are growing in a healthy rate. Fishes at this pond has made this lake as their habitual home. The owner of this pond really took care of his fish. IT Monster Lake covers an area of 5 acres and has a varying depths ranging from between 2-6 metres.
